Early Career
An Emmy and Edward R. Murrow award-winning journalist, Lucas began his career writing and producing for several Chicago TV stations prior to transitioning on-air as a news anchor/reporter for NBC News affiliates for nearly a decade. His investigative reporting has been featured on NBC Nightly News, MSNBC, CNN and cited in publications like Nova Law review.
Most Recently
Lucas managed successful public relations campaigns for University of Miami’s School of Architecture – Construction Management, the nation’s leading Lean Construction consultant Unified Works and its collaboration with Canadian tech company Nialli, as well as artificial intelligence platform Ople.AI, to name a few. He previously led media relations efforts for The Florida Bar, top aviation law firm Podhurst Orseck, Walmart, among others. His strong relationships within the industry and journalistic expertise consistently results in his clients being booked on top cable TV news networks, quoted as trusted sources in top-tier publications and are regularly featured as authors of bylined articles and op-eds.
Community
Lucas is passionate about pro-bono PR work as well, currently representing organizations such as the League of Women Voters and Men of Chicago Real Estate, an HIV/AIDS charity. He has also served on the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce’s New World Committee where he helped raise awareness about the region’s climate change and sea-level rise problem.
Education
He earned his bachelor’s degree in Journalism with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism and Television from Columbia College Chicago and completed the university’s international journalism program “Covering Europe from London.
